Counselling / Psychotherapy

Before we meet for the first time, you may wish to book a free 20 minute consultation. This gives us a chance to meet, learn a bit about one another, chat about your primary reasons for seeking therapy, and determine whether my own experience and clinical orientation are a good fit for working with your particular areas of concern.

Hi, I’m Laura!

My approach with clients is to provide a safe and non-judgemental space to explore life challenges and work toward better functioning. I draw on different approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy and polvagal informed theory in order to customize the counselling experience to the unique needs of the client. My practice is centred around values of curiosity and respect for the client’s lived experience, with a focus on creating more self compassion and internal safety. I believe that we can access internal strengths that foster improved wellbeing through increased awareness and intentional practice.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Victoria and a Master’s of art in counselling psychology from Yorkville University. My background is in working with newcomers to Canada and survivors of intimate partner violence. Through my work I have been able to increase my knowledge of community resources and advocacy, which is something that I’m passionate about.

I work with clients virtually and in-person. If you would like to hear more about my practice, feel free to reach out and book a free video consultation.

Hi, I’m Riley!

My aim is to provide a trusting, nonjudgmental space in which you feel safe enough to share your personal story. While there is an innate wisdom within all of us, our ability to see the way forward can become clouded when we are overwhelmed by tragedy or adversity. A deep exploration of one’s internal experience can often be freeing, and provide valuable insight into patterns of relating to the self, others, and the world around us. An attachment-based, client-centred orientation allows us to work collaboratively in drawing connections between your past experiences and your present situation.

I hold a masters degree in counselling from the University of Queensland, Australia, and work as a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I offer an integrative approach, meaning we may draw from a variety of evidence-based interventions to support the development of healthy coping mechanisms, increased motivation, personal insight, interpersonal skills, and more.

I look forward to meeting you!

Hi, I’m Carrie!

Navigating through the world comes with inherent challenges, and sometimes what we’re seeking for support is more than what our friends or family can provide. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic space where you can show up as you are, feel seen and heard, and together, we co-create the helpful way forward. My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and social justice oriented.

I offer trauma-informed counselling that integrates somatic psychotherapy techniques. This approach recognizes the connection between the mind and body and helps to process and release traumatic experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Supporting survivors of violence and abuse is an area of particular interest in my practice.

I completed a master’s in counselling from the University of Calgary and I’ve also completed a 3-year Somatic Experiencing training; my undergraduate degree is from the University of Victoria. Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my daughter and loved ones, walking in nature, swimming in lakes, and practicing yoga.
